Suicide Fact

Throughout the United States there are over 30,000 people who committ suicide every year.  There are over 500,000 suicide attempts every year.  That is enough people to fill Sunset Junior High School 500 times, or 10 times the number of residents in Sunset City, or fill Energy Solutions Arena 23 times.  By the time we have finished our shine time period, at least two people have died and 29 (that's more than one every minute!) are hospitalized due to an attempt.  Someone's neighbor, mother, father, sister, brother, or best friend was lost because of suicide.
