FAQ's Graduation Credits

Ask your ninth grade class the following questions to see how much they know about the classes they have:

1.  True or False
     Computer Technology is a required class to take for graduation.

Answer: True

2.  True or False
     You need 27 credits to graduate.

Answer: True

3.  True or False
    You must have two years of the same foreign language to graduate.

Answer:  False.  Foreign language classes are elective credits and you are not required to take them.  However, colleges prefer to see two years of the same language on your transcripts.  University of Utah may require it for entrance. 

4.  True or False
    Food and Nutrition and Teen Living classes are technology credits.

Answer:  True

5.  True or False
    You must take 1.5 credits of PE classes and 1.5 credits of Fine Art classes.

Answer: True.  Remember Fit for Life (usually taken in 10th grade) is a required class.

6.  True or False
     Colleges only look at your 10th-12th grade grades.

Answer: False!! Your grades in ninth grade help determine what college you go to, what scholarships you get, and what opportunities you have in high school.
